I have been an active member of the bowling club almost all my life. The exercise and the social aspects – we often sat with a beer together and sung songs and told stories – they were always very important to me. That is why I was frankly a bit afraid of the loneliness of a residential care facility. But my concerns were completely unfounded. In the day care, we get delicious food and can take part in various group activities. There are aerobics and dance classes, you can paint and do pottery, or we play cards or Ludo. It is never boring, and I look forward every day to meeting the other inhabitants of the home. When it gets warm in the spring, we sit in the garden in the sun and look forward to seeing the lilies of the valley and crocuses.
